Understand the properties and types of different types of paper

You need to appreciate that all of the many different types of paper and board are a media for communication (letters, advertisements and flyers) and for packaging products. 

Virgin Paper

This just means new paper, manufactured from raw materials. This meas it is made up of 100% wood pulp and no recycled materials. 

Recycled Paper

The majority of paper is made up of recycled boards and paper. This is more environmentally friendly and cheaper. It does however mean that the paper is of a lower grade quality but the low costs are filtered down to the consumer so the paper is luckily, cheaper to buy.

Re-usable Paper

Paper that can have all of the surface design erased and re-used. This is possible to and extent, domestically you can rub out pencil markings. However industrial re-usable paper allows for all of the printing to be removed.
